| Redstone is a unique coal mining village about 17 miles south of Carbondale off CO Highway 133. Today we will ride to Redstone for brunch or lunch. The round trip is about 64 miles from Glenwood Springs to Hayes Falls. For longer distance options continue south on Hwy 133 to the Summit of McClure Pass turn left and ride onto Marble (the road isn't paved the whole way). Make sure you stop in Redstone for lunch before returning to Carbondale and Glenwood Springs. Highway 133 is a steady gradual climb of 1.5 to 2 percent from Carbondale until a few miles past Redstone. The grade steepens before the summit of McClure Pass. Plan to depart from in front of the Denver Hotel at 8:30AM. | ||||
