Our Bio
We started tandem cycling in the spring of 1986. We purchased our first tandem to do the first Denver Post Ride the Rockies that same year. Our first tandem was a Santana Sovereign. We average between 3,000 and 4,000 miles per year. Our custom TiCycles Tandem is our third road tandem. Since mid '98 we have logged 37,,000 miles on our TiCycle Tandem. After nearly 10 years and more than 33,000 miles in the spring of 2008 we purchased a new custom da Vinci Global Venture Tandem. The TiCycle now resides in Tucson.
We have done tours in Colorado, California, Oregon, New Mexico, Wyoming, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont and Canada. In 2001 we rode coast to coast from Newport Beach, CA to Yorktown, VA crossing 10 states with 16 other tandem teams and one single bike. We have tandem toured Germany self-contained. In the winter of 2003-2004 we toured the north and south islands of New Zealand with 11 tandems and 3 single bikes.
We have done several other cycling tours in Europe (Holland, Italy and Portugal) on single bikes. As the years have passed we have become one with the tandem. The majority of our cycling is on our tandem. This site is dedicated to our adventures in tandem cycling. As time passes we want this site to become a journal of our tandem adventures.
